Project Description

Lyons Campus – Veteran Hospital

Originally called “soldiers homes” or “military homes,” New Jersey’s veterans’ hospitals have a long history stemming back to the Civil War, when Abraham Lincoln established the first asylum for soldiers and sailors in Augusta, Maine. It was the first of its kind. Since then, the system has expanded considerably. Now operating under the Veteran Health Adminstration, the Lyons Campus is one of two hospitals located in the greater New York Metropolitan area.
